There are two reasons for this design. First, the wheel is made from high-density polyethylene, which is a very durable and cost-effective material, but it doesn’t get any clearer than this. Second, the wheel contains internal pads that are essential to its performance. Even if the Wire Wheel was clear, the foam pads would obscure the wire, so the visibility would not improve.
